Position Title: Maintenance Operator

Position Description: The NJM Facility Operations Department has an opening for an Maintenance Operator in our West Trenton, NJ facility. The successful candidate will assist the Maintenance Supervisor in operating and maintaining all related building systems including: mechanical and pneumatic systems (HVAC, plumbing, fuel oil), electrical systems (lighting, UPS, PDU, generators, switchgear), control systems, fire/life safety, and mission critical equipment. The Maintenance Operator will interact with various departments, contractors and service vendors supporting the facility. Position Requirements: • Perform routine inspections and maintenance. • Perform visual inspections of mechanical and electrical rooms and mission critical equipment and communicates any concerns or problems to supervision. • Utilize the building management system (Siemens Apogee) to watch conditions and document any modifications to operating conditions or abnormalities in the shift operators log book. • Monitor conditions and make adjustments to building mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems. • Provide administrative support in recordkeeping and system documentation. • Make sure that all work is performed in a safe manner and completed without causing interference to NJM business operations or employee activities. • Provide oversight of service vendors and contractors performing work off-hours at the facility; Check work progress periodically to assess their progress and provide assistance as needed. Must be able to lift and move heavy supplies, equipment and tools; operate trade specific diagnostic devices, and legally operate a motor vehicle.
