About the Board

The Board of Education of the Vocational-Technical Schools in the County of Mercer is comprised of seven members. Six of the board members are appointed by the County Executive and approved by the Board of Chosen Commissioners. The County Superintendent of Schools serves as the seventh member of the Board of Education.

PUBLIC NOTICE OF JOINT SESSION PUBLIC HEARING ON December 17, 2024
Pursuant to the Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-6, et seq,

Pursuant to N.J.S.A.18A:11-11, the Board of Education of the Mercer County Special Services School District (MCSSSD) and the Mercer County Technical Schools District (MCTS) will hold a joint public hearing on December 17, 2024, at 5:00 PM, at 1085 Old Trenton Rd, Trenton, NJ 08690 in the Mercer County Technical Schools Assunpink Center, Cafeteria for the purpose of considering for adoption revisions to the joint Professional Employment Agreement between MCTS/MCSSSD and Superintendent Matthew C. Carey for the period July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2027, including an increase in compensation. Action may be taken on the proposed contract revisions after the public hearing. 

The proposed action would revise the terms of a contract with a Superintendent of Schools. Therefore, as required by the statute, this notice serves to provide at least 30 days’ public notice of the scheduled action and at least 10 days’ notice of the scheduled public hearing which must be held before action may be taken. A copy of the proposed Professional Employment Agreement showing the proposed changes is available for review in the business office of MCSSSD at the address indicated above.
