ARTS TECHNOLOGY – (20 Credits) (College Credits Offered)
This program prepares students for careers in the fast-paced field of
graphics communications. Each student receives hands-on
instruction in digital pre-press, layout and design, web page design,
digital video, offset press operations, film and plate preparation, as
well as bindery methods. All students work on individual
state-of-the-art Apple G5 minitower computers, OS X with 17" LCD
displays. Students work with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator,
Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe GoLive, Dreamweaver, Flash, Apple iMovie and
Final Cut Pro. Students will also be exposed to production phases
of the graphic arts program. Students who successfully complete
this two-year program gain national certification from the PrintED-Graphic
Arts Education and Research Foundation (GAERF). The
certifications are in one or more of the following areas:
Students who maintain an "A" or "B" are
eligible for 9 college credits at M.C.C.C. or at the Art Institute of
Philadelphia. So if you are interested in the design and
