Our Programs

COSMETOLOGY - (20 Credits)
Students in the Cosmetology Program will develop the knowledge and practical skills to master the entry-level job requirements needed to become a cosmetologist/hairstylist.  Accredited by the New Jersey State Board of Cosmetology and the New Jersey Department of Education, this is a two-year program and requires 1000 instructional hours.  A culturally integrated program, students will be given instruction in all phases of hair, skin and nail care with an emphasis on hair care.  Students participate in "hands-on" practice through supervised clinical experiences.  Preparation for the New Jersey licensing examination is provided.  Licensing requirements include:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 1000 consecutive hours of cosmetology instruction

• Successful completion of an accredited cosmetology program

• Passage of required state licensing examination
