BUSINESS
SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY / NETWORK ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY – (20 Credits)
The
Business Systems Technology Program gives students the opportunity to
work and learn in a simulated business environment. Students learn
Microsoft Office Suite applications used in the professional business
world and are provided the opportunity to distinguish themselves by
becoming a Microsoft Office Specialist. Students prepare for and take
the MOS certification test on site!
The
Network Engineering Technology Program gives students the opportunity to
learn in a hands on environment how to design, install, and maintain a
computer network. Students will be given the opportunity to build their
own network and understand all facets of basic Network Engineering
Principals. Students taking this track will work towards either
Network+, or Cisco's CCNA certification.
Students also engage in The International Business Practice Firm (IBPF).
The IBPF is a company set up by students and real world business
partners. The students determine the nature of their business and engage
in the daily operations of running a business. Emphasis is placed on
using current business software and the Internet for business tractions.
Students may earn credits
through an articulation agreement with Mercer County Community College.
Once students have met the objectives of the program, they are assisted
in finding employment though the Cooperative Industrial Education Program.
All students are
provided membership in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Members
have traveled to Orlando, Florida; Washington, D.C.; and Anaheim, California
to compete for national honors. Students in this program have been recognized
nationally every year for eight years.
