The basic tools of drafting are introduced as you learn to draw your home to scale as an architect did when designing it. You will also be introduced to the technology of the computer.

Through teacher demonstration and hands-on projects, students will learn to identify various components found in electronic circuits, learn to read transistor codes, and to use the hands tools found in the electronics industry.

The Mercer County Technical School District, in partnership with the Municipal Land Use Center at The College of NJ, is offering students the opportunity to learn about sustainability and Sustainable careers through a 2 week summer institute.

Students will gain an inside perspective of the fashion industry. Topics covered will include the evolution of fashion, magazines and trends, designer profiles (i.e. Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein) as well as career options in the fashion industry. Students construct their own designer garments and fashion show.

Working in a commercial kitchen, you will have fun learning some of the basics and trade secrets used by the professionals. Baking breads and pastries, decorating cakes like those sold at your local bakeries will give you the experience you need to follow and enjoy recipes at home.

Through the completion of two to three projects students will be introduced to the basic elements and skills of General Building Construction.

Students will gain perspective in a one week integrated performing arts workshop. The program offerings will include dance, drama, and vocal music and will be conducted on the West Windsor Campus of Mercer County Community College. (Session III Only)

The landscaping and horticulture program offers students the opportunity to explore the exciting and colorful world of gardening, lawn care, and greenhouse management. Students will prune trees and shrubs, install flower beds, raise and care for greenhouse plants, maintain an interior plantscape and enjoy the personal satisfaction of learning and working in the field of landscaping and horticulture.

Orientation is done in modern supermarket operations for cashiering, grocery, stocking and customer services. Students run a real mini market store with customer skills.
