Educational Program
The Thomas J. Rubino Academy curriculum for all students is based on
the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. The program
provides clear standards for achievement and creates a
work-and-learn atmosphere. Clear goals, specific objectives, and an
individually paced program is designed for each student.
Requirements for high school graduation including English,
Mathematics, History, World Language, Science, and Physical/Health Education will be among
the required courses of study.
Work
Study Program
In addition to the required courses, a school-to-work program will
be offered to all students. Some of the components of the
school-to-work program are as follows: (a) career assessment, (b)
career awareness and experience, (c) related employment, (d)
community speakers, (e) cooperative partnership arrangements with
business and industry, and (f) placement and supervision in approved
employment settings.
Other
Activities
Approved field trips and other experiential activities will be
offered for outdoor education. These will include environmental
education, career and occupational experiences, and
business/industry visitations.
