Summer Career Orientation Program

TRADE /TECHNICAL/SERVICE CAREERS

A summer career orientation program is available to middle school youth who wish to explore a variety of trade, technical, and service occupations. The experience provides students with information and "hands-on" instruction in two areas of interest. The following programs are usually offered:

Auto Care                                      Commercial/ Graphic Arts
Electrical/Electronics                      Supermarket Careers
Beauty Care/ Cosmetology              Construction Trades
Food Preparation/Baking                 Telecommunications
Child Care                                      Drafting/Computer Worlds
Internet Business Applications         Health Careers

The program schedule is divided into two sessions. Each class is 3 hours in length. Students are permitted to explore two areas of interest. The program is held at the Assunpink and Sypek Technical Centers. Course selection will determine which campus the student will attend. Transportation between the Technical Centers will be provided.
