THE DRAMA PROGRAM The primary goals of the drama program are to develop students’ full potential and to encourage professionalism in theater work. Students are expected to demonstrate a serious commitment to their craft for further study in a performing arts institution or to a two- or four-year college or university. This two year program emphasizes all aspects of the theater arts with particular emphasis upon individual and ensemble acting techniques, audition skills, and in-depth study of theater history and literature. Classes include: Acting, Music for Actors, Dance for Actors, Speech, Theater history, and Staging & Movement. (College Credit Offered)
THE DANCE PROGRAM The Dance Program offers various technique and theory courses to develop the complete dancer. A faculty of professionally trained instructors train dancers technically in Modern, Ballet and Jazz genres, while teaching a strong appreciation for all forms of dance through the study of Dance History. Dance Improvisation and Composition courses offered lay the ground work for the development of creative young choreographers. The program is designed to prepare serious dancers in a carefully disciplined professional environment that encourages proper technique development and maturity. Graduates often enter a college dance program, dance professionally, and develop a life-long love of the art of movement. Classes include: Modern Dance, Jazz, Ballet, Dance History, Improvisation, Pilates, Criticism, and Composition. (College Credit Offered) THE VOCAL ARTS PROGRAM While meeting the individual aims of aspiring performers, the Vocal Arts Program strives to develop the correct use of the voice as an instrument.
