Cosmetology
Students in the
Cosmetology program develop the knowledge and practical skills to
master the entry-level job requirements needed to become a
cosmetologist/ hairstylist. Accredited by the New Jersey State
Board of Cosmetology and the New Jersey Department of Education,
this program is a two-year program and requires 1,000 instructional
hours. A culturally integrated program, students are given
instruction in all phases of hair, skin and nail care with an
emphasis on haircare. Students participate in “hands-on” practice
through supervised clinical experiences. Preparation for the New
Jersey licensing examination is provided.
