The Adult Evening School provides part-time courses in various occupational and technical career fields. Avocational or personal enrichment courses are also offered. Courses are designed to offer students the following opportunities:
         (a) upgrading of present employment skills,
         (b) entry-level employment skills,
         (c) business/industrial certification and licensing,
         (d) apprenticeship training, and
         (e) personal enrichment.
Several programs are also offered jointly with the Mercer County Community College.

Customized training for business, industry, labor, and government may also be arranged through the Adult Evening School. Special courses, workshops, and seminars can be arranged to assist the employers of Mercer County.
Federal and state approved apprenticeship training courses are offered through the Adult Evening School. Some programs may satisfy Veterans Education requirements. An apprentice must take a minimum of 144 hours of job-related (theory) instruction per year of apprenticeship. All apprenticeship courses are designed to offer apprentices both theory and practical experiences. Emphasis is usually placed on those areas not covered in the daily job requirements.
Students who successfully meet the requirements of the program are eligible for a Certificate of Proficiency. Apprentices who successfully complete their respective program and comply with the yearly attendance requirements are awarded certificates jointly by the school, the New Jersey Departments of Labor, and the Federal Bureau of Apprenticeship Training.
