Small Engine Repair - AM002

The student will be able to safely maintain, troubleshoot and repair small units of equipment that are powered by gasoline engines and are hand-held or pushed.  Hands-on project work.  Added structure compared to prior offerings.
 
1. Class orientation and safety, some four-cycle theory
2. Pistons and rings
3. Cams, valves, lifters, ACR
4. Carburetors, air filters, governors
5. Ignition systems
6. Starters, pull and electric
7. Charging systems, batteries, rectifiers, solenoids, diodes, switches, regulators, etc.
8. Troubleshooting (four cycle)
9. Two-cycle theory
10. Troubleshooting (two cycle)

Location:  Sypek Center
1   30 hour unit, 1 evening per week, 3 hours per evening (10 weeks)
