Math II for Construction Trades - BS201

The student will be able to perform the operations in mathematics necessary to solve basic volumetric, linear and area problems related to the construction trades.
 

1. Review of measuring - use of carpenter's rule
2. Review of fractions - board feet calculations
3. Review of decimals
4. Review of square roots
5. Pythagorean Theorem - 3, 4, 5, triangle
6. Pythagorean Theorem application
7. Rectangular volumetric measurement
8. Volumetric measurement - concrete calculations
9. Cubic yards versus cubic feet versus cubic inches
10. Introduction to trigonometry and angular measure
11. Trigonometry applied
12. Layout and estimating applied

Location:  Assunpink Center
1   36-hour unit, 1evening per week, 3 hours per evening (12 weeks)
