Machine Shop Practice

This course is intended to provide basic hands-on skills using the listed equipment.  Instruction includes the set-up and operation of the standard machine tools used in the trade from the perspective of the student's individual needs.  Tolerances and allowances of different measuring instruments are included.

This is a two-year program covering the following 36-hour units of instruction.
 

1. MS101 Basic lathe operations I
2. MS102 Basic Lathe Operations II
3. MS103 Advanced lathe operations
4. MS104 Drilling
5. MS201 Cutting/Milling
6. MS202 Milling
7. MS203 Surface grinding
8. MS204 Use of miscellaneous hand tools
 

Location;  Assunpink Center
8  36-hour units, 2 evenings per week, 3 hours per evening
Lab fee required
