Electricity for the Home Owner - EL001

This course is intended to enable the student to safely identify defective components in a residential circuit and make basic repairs or replacements. The course includes the following three-hour sessions:
 
1. Municipal rules, tool identification and safety
2. Identifying electrical components and wire types
3. Fundamental electrical circuits in the home
4. Replacing a receptacle
5. National Electrical Code requirements
6. Replacing a three-way switch
7. Ground fault circuit interrupter safety
8. Replacing a light fixture and ceiling fan
9. Doorbell systems
10. Trouble shooting electrical circuits

Location:  Assunpink Center
1   30-hour unit, 1 evening per week, 3 hours per evening (10 weeks)
